| IVN, the International Association Natural Textile Industry, is an alliance of the leading players in the natural textiles industry and was founded in January 1999 at the international natural textiles trade fair, InNaTex, in Wiesbaden. |

It covers companies involved in the preliminary stages (fibre preparation, spinning mills, weaving mills, equipment businesses), textile manufacturers as well as specialist dispatch and specialist retail companies.
The founding members include the dispatchers Hess Natur, Köppel, Maas and Panda, companies involved in the preliminary stages such as Boller Winkler and manufacturers such as Hirsch Natur or disana.

Starting with around 60 member companies, the association had economic power of more than half a billion euros in sales on its foundation. To date more than 30 additional companies have been added as members. It is open to all companies whose activities focus on natural textiles. |

The IVN guidelines are an important tool, which are based on the manuals present on the market to date (AKN, IOFAM, Demeter).
These guidelines provide all the players in the economic process with clear instructions regarding all processes along the textile chain – from fibre preparation to the use of the textiles in terms of technical, ecological and social parameters. Likewise, clear standards for the minimisation of the use of resources while maintaining the quality and integrity of the natural fibres are provided. This is done taking into account the international applicability of the guidelines and the feasibility of the standards in products with good use and care qualities. |
